เมื่อวันที่ 10 กรกฎาคม 2569 นายธีรภัทร มงคลนาวิน เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงอาบูจา ได้ยื่นพระราชสาส์นตราตั้งต่อนาย Romuald Wadagni ประธานาธิบดีแห่งสาธารณรัฐเบนิน ณ ทำเนียบประธานาธิบดี ในฐานะเอกอัครราชทูตวิสามัญผู้มีอำนาจเต็มประจำสาธารณรัฐเบนิน โดยมีถิ่นพำนัก ณ กรุงอาบูจา ในโอกาสดังกล่าว เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะประธานาธิบดีแห่งสาธารณรัฐเบนิน โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคี โดยเฉพาะด้านความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนา ทั้งนี้ ฝ่ายไทยได้กล่าวถึงนโยบาย Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI) ซึ่งมุ่งกระชับความเป็นหุ้นส่วนระหว่างไทยกับประเทศในแอฟริกา และแสดงความพร้อมที่จะส่งเสริมความร่วมมือกับเบนินอย่างใกล้ชิดต่อไป

On 10 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Thirapath Mongkolnavin presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Romuald Wadagni, President of the Republic of Benin, at the Presidential Palace, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Benin, with residence in Abuja.

On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the President. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economic and development cooperation. The Thai side also highlighted the Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI), which aims to deepen Thailand's partnership with African countries, and reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to further enhance close cooperation with Benin.
