Thai Passport Renewal for Minors (Under 20 Years of Age)

Requirements

Applicants under the age of 20 must be accompanied by their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) when submitting an application for passport renewal.

Please prepare the following documents:

1. Completed passport application form.
2. Current Thai passport of the minor, original or copy
3. Original Thai National Identification Card, original or copy
4. Original Thai Birth Certificate, original or copy
5. Parent valid Thai National ID (for Thai parents)
6. Parent valid Passport or National ID card (for non-Thai parents), Original or copy
7. Proof of legal guardianship (if applicable), such as a court order or guardianship document.
8. Parents' marriage certificate, divorce certificate, or any relevant legal document.
9. Copy of house register in Thailand.
10. Passport fee (5 years= 65,000 Naira) must be paid in cash only.

Important Information

• The minor must appear in person at the Embassy.
• In the case where either of the parent is unable to appear, Letter of Consent is required and must be signed in the presence of the officials of the Department of Consular Affairs Thailand.
• In the case that the minor is under 15 years of age and the minor’s parents wish to give authority to someone else to sign the consent form on their behalf, a power of attorney must be presented. The person signing the consent form on behalf of the parents must be 20 years of age and must bring his/her Thai national ID card or any form of Identification.
• In the case that both parents have a shared custody of the minor, both parents must sign the Consent form.
• All documents issued outside Thailand must be duly legalized or authenticated, where applicable.

Passport collection

Applicant can collect their passport by the following ways;

1. Bring the pick-up slip and collect the passport in person at the embassy
2. Give authorization to another person to collect the passport on their behalf by signing their name on the pick-up slip and must provide and Identification card
3. The Embassy can send the passport to the applicant by post; however, the applicant will be responsible for the courier costs.
