On 22 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja organised a sandalwood flower-offering ceremony and a Buddhist chanting ceremony to mark the anniversary of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on 24 October 2026 at the Embassy. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Thirapath Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of Thailand to Nigeria, and attended by officials and spouses, as well as staff members of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of Commercial Affairs in Abuja.
