The Royal Thai Embassy and Thai Community in Abuja organised a volunteer activity on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Thailand’s National Mother’s Day, 12 August 2026, and to make merit dedicated to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati.

 

H.E. Mr. Thirapath Mongkolnavin, Ambassador of Thailand to Nigeria, led officials and staff of the Embassy and the Thai Trade Center in Abuja in participating in the activity at the FCT School for the Blind, Jabi. The Embassy and the Thai community in Abuja donated essential food and household supplies to the school and its students to support the school’s operations and the well-being of its students. Mrs. Hafsat Umar Isah, Head Teacher of FCT School for the Blind, Jabi, received the donations on behalf of the school.

 

FCT School for the Blind has 146 students, ranging from 6 to 16 years old in the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and primary levels, as well as students aged 17–25 in its rehabilitation programme
